blk BOATERS of South Florida is an initiative to organize opportunities to network for black boaters. Our scheduled events provide unique opportunities to connect with fellow boaters, both seasoned and new, in order to share experiences, resources, and best practices. We look forward to meeting you soon as we tune out the world and fully immerse ourselves in the wonderful world of boating, networking, and taking advantage of the many benefits offered by the salt water and the vitamin D from the sun.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SITE AND ALL EVENTS ARE PRIVATE AND FOR BOAT OWNING MEMBERS ONLY
BOATING
Boating is a worldwide pastime that black folks have not traditionally enjoyed. Many have conditioned themselves to think boating is not a "Black Thing." But the Black Boaters of SOFLO wish to change that perception! Our goal is to show our people that black folk boat too.

Although owning a boat can be considered one of the "trappings of success," black people should recognize that it is not one that is unattainable.

As we address the need for change in our community, it is important to recognize the positive impact boating can have on health and wellbeing. Research has shown that boating can help to lower blood pressure, reduce heart rate, and improve breathing. So, while we work towards change, let us not forget the potential benefits of boating for our overall health and relaxation.
BUSINESS
Through hard work and dedication, success in business can allow us to indulge in boating and other luxuries that life has to offer. Business is the greatest foundation for acquiring wealth and can become the cornerstone to build generational prosperity.

In the Black community, too much emphasis is placed on acquiring wealth through entertainment and athletics. While we recognize these as great achievements, these paths are only attained by less than 0.2% of the total population.

As African American business leaders, it is our duty to provide our community with viable examples of individuals who have attained wealth through hard work, wise investments, and business.

RELATIONSHIPS
Building relationships is a crucial component of life. Individuals establish relationships for various reasons. As boaters, business owners, and business leaders, our goal is to cultivate enduring friendships by sharing our passion for boating, which inevitably fosters business connections through networking... It is worth noting that nurturing relationships also leads to something that is greatly needed in the black community...BUILDING WEALTH.
"Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats."
― Kenneth Grahame
